Mobility in healthcare spending is termed to reach $5.4 billion this year, in accordance to an IDC Health Insights report. With the U.S. coming in as the greatest market in the world for mobile devices because of huge number of manufacturers, technological advancements, a growing population with smartphones, tablets, and laptops and an increasing awareness about the devices and technology, it is no wonder the healthcare industry is taking strides to get their plans into the hands of these already mobile-savvy clients.
Smart phones and other communication devices coupled with a greater than average aging population with a larger prevalence of chronic diseases are the greatest key drivers for mobility in healthcare. Today, nearly 70 percent of clinicians utilize laptops or smartphones to access healthcare information.
