Latest Data Indicates Health Care Jobs Grew in Kentucky Previous Year

The health care industry in Kentucky sustained to add jobs in the year 2015, in accordance to newly revised information from the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The Kentucky Center for Economic Policy observed the data and discovered 10,500 more people work in the health care industry in the month of January 2016 than in the similar month 2 years prior. Jobs in health care were up nearly 5% over the year 2014, while the overall economy in Kentucky saw 3.1% job growth in that era.

Jason Bailey, executive director of KCEP, claimed employment in health care and social assistance sectors picked up after the execution of the Medicaid expansion, which Ex-Gov. Steve Beshear did under the Affordable Care Act.

“So many more persons have health care coverage and are going to the doctor, and that is very likely having a powerful influence on the job growth that we are seeing,” he claimed.
