40 percent of Hospitals Spend More on Cloud, Health IT Infrastructure

Investment in health IT infrastructure is observing primary growth as providers try to retool their systems to meet demanding quality improvement goals.


Health IT infrastructure budgets are growing, declares a report by IDC Health Insights, and healthcare providers are targeting high with cloud-based big data analytics technologies and software-as-a-service tools that will enable them to meet the ongoing issues of healthcare reform.


40% of hospitals engaging in the survey have expanded their health IT budgets for the year 2016, with basic EHR investment taking a back seat to more advanced complementary technologies.


As providers begin to get more comfortable with the idea of cloud computing and begin to get a manage on the data security provisions required to keep their information safe, health IT infrastructure is playing a greater role than ever in making better the quality and delivering actionable insights.
